Supercharged 355-Powered 1968 GMC C1500 Custom

This 1968 GMC C1500 Custom pickup was purchased by the seller in 2012 and driven sparingly for the next 10 years, following that a multi-year build was undertaken and completed in 2023. A retrofitted 355ci V8 was installed, along with a Weiand supercharger, an AED 750-cfm four-barrel carburetor, and a March Performance serpentine kit. Power is sent through a four-speed automatic transmission with a Bowler Performance lock-up control module and a Yukon Positraction rear differential. The frame was modified with an additional crossmember, and the truck rides on a lowered suspension with a rear trailing arm and coil spring conversion. It also has power steering, power-assisted front discs, and 18″ American Racing wheels. It was fitted with an aftermarket bed and repainted in a custom shade of blue with black accents. Inside, a roll bar was added behind the TMI bench seat, along with PRP four-point harnesses, Vintage Air climate control, an Ididit steering column, and a Lokar shifter. This C1500 has traveled approximately 2,100 miles since the completion of the build, and it is now offered with build photos, invoices, instruction manuals, and an Indiana title in the seller’s name. The body was stripped, the rocker panels were replaced, and additional body repairs were performed before a layer of epoxy was applied. It was fitted with Chevrolet various components, as well as an aftermarket bed with widened wheel tubs. The truck was repainted in a custom shade of blue with black accents on the roof, bed floor, tailgate, and lower body. The bumpers, mirrors, door handles, lights, glass, moldings, gaskets, and other pieces of exterior trim have been replaced. A chip is present on one of the doors, and a chip on the hood has been touched up, per the seller. The lowered suspension features 2″ drop spindles and coil springs up front, and a trailing arm setup and coil springs out back, along with 1.5″ lower blocks. It also has an aftermarket panhard bar and a front sway bar. The power steering system has a CPP quick-ratio power steering box, and braking is provided by power-assisted front discs and rear drums. The 18″ American Racing wheels are mounted with Michelin Pilot Sport tires measuring 235/45 up front and 295/45 out back. The TMI bench seat is upholstered in black with blue stitching and is joined by a matching dash pad. A roll bar was installed behind the seat, and it has a harness bar with four-point PRP harnesses. A Custom Autosound stereo has been installed, but it has not been connected. The aftermarket steering wheel is mounted to an Ididit column. It frames Classic Instruments gauges, which include a 140-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The replacement five-digit odometer shows 2,100 miles, which indicates the distance traveled since the completion of the build. Total mileage is unknown. The turn signal does not cancel on right-hand turns. The 355ci V8 was overhauled before it was installed and has been fitted with a Weiand supercharger, along with an AED 750-cfm four-barrel carburetor, a March Performance serpentine kit, an aluminum radiator, an American Autowire kit, and MSD ignition. The replacement aluminum fuel tank was installed at the back of the frame, and the filler was relocated to the bed floor. A retrofitted 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission was installed and fitted with a Bowler Performance lock-up control module and a finned transmission oil cooler. The rear axle was rebuilt with a Yukon positraction differential with a 3.73:1 gear ratio. The frame was sand-blasted, and a layer of epoxy was applied before it was repainted in black.
